19-Month-Old Girl Drowns in Union County Pond; Authorities Investigating
A 19-month-old girl is dead after drowning in a pond in Union County on Sunday.
According to a release from the Union County Sheriff’s Office, a 9-1-1 call was received at just before 7:30 Sunday evening reporting that the toddler was found unresponsive in a pond in the 19,000 block of Paver Barnes Road.
Approximately 8 minutes later, a deputy arrived on the scene and began CPR.
Medics from the Marysville Fire Department then arrived on scene and took over CPR while transporting the girl to Memorial Hospital.
The child was pronounced dead at just after 9 Sunday night.
Her body was transported to the Montgomery County Crime Lab for an autopsy.
The incident remains under investigation.
