6th grade social studies students at Benjamin Logan have been studying the world of Egyptian Frontalism Art, which is a unique and rule-based artistic style used by ancient Egyptians for thousands of years.

The students learned the strict visual guidelines used in Egyptian art, such as drawing the head in profile while the eye faces forward, showing the body frontally with all arms, legs, hands, and feet visible, using red for men and yellow for women and emphasizing calm, formal posture and symbolic meaning

They then brought history to life by creating their own Egyptian-style portraits, demonstrating impressive attention to detail and creativity.
