Sheila Coressel officially launched her campaign for the 83rd Ohio House District during an event held June 30, 2026, in Findlay.

The event brought together supporters and attendees from Hardin and Hancock counties as Coressel discussed her background, experience in education and local government, and priorities if elected.

The 83rd district includes northern Logan County, Hardin County, and Hancock County.

Speakers at the event included Tim Davis, an Ohio Education Association labor consultant, State Central Committee representative, and retired educator, who discussed Coressel’s focus on public education, and Hancock County Democratic Party Chair Eve Gray, who introduced Coressel.

Coressel highlighted her service on Ada Village Council, with the Ada-Liberty Township Ambulance Board, and as chairwoman of the Hardin County Democratic Party. She discussed issues including healthcare affordability, education funding, and the importance of voter participation.

Coressel also addressed private school vouchers and said she supports directing public funding toward public schools. Attendees Lyn Poe and Cathy Weygandt shared their support for Coressel’s campaign, citing her experience in education and local government.

Coressel said that, if elected, she plans to work with lawmakers to address issues affecting Ohio communities.
