A Findlay man was arrested after a domestic disturbance incident in that city early this morning.
According to a release from the Findlay Police Department, officers were dispatched to 1245 Crystal Glen Boulevard for a domestic disturbance in progress.
An officer made contact at the apartment front door and observed a female who was bleeding from a cut on her hand and a male who was attempting to shut the door on the officer.
After the officer pulled the female out of the doorway, the male shut and locked the door.
He then threatened to harm himself and to tamper with the gas lines and blow up the apartment building, which prompted an evacuation of the other apartments.
The Findlay Fire Department and crews from Columbia Gas were dispatched to the scene, and gas to the building was shut off.
The suspect was identified as 56-year-old Savas Rivas Jr., and after some negotiations, he exited the apartment and was arrested without incident.
Savas was taken to Blanchard Valley Hospital as a precaution and was eventually incarcerated at the Hancock County Justice Center on charges of Domestic Violence, Inducing Panic and Obstructing Official Business.
The female victim was transported to the hospital for treatment of her injuries.
Findlay Fire Department and Columbia Gas remained on scene to ensure the apartment building was safe and to turn the gas back on before residents were allowed back into their apartments.
