An Enterprise Zone agreement was signed by the Hardin County Commissioners Thursday that offers an incentive for Vancrest to build a new health care/assisted living facility in Kenton.
The agreement provides Vancrest with a 75% exemption on all new real property as part of the project for a period of 15 years.
Groundbreaking is scheduled to take place on September 15.
If all goes as planned, it will open in the Spring of 2027.
Vancrest Chief Operating Officer Shane Stewart shared his thoughts on the project, “We’re super excited to come to the Kenton community and provide services to not only Kenton, but the surrounding communities as well.”
Vancrest of Kenton will be located on Wildcat Way.
The 67,700 square foot facility will be a 64-bed nursing and residential care facility.
It is expected to create 51 jobs and a payroll of nearly 2 million dollars.

On hand for the signing ceremony were Stewart, Commissioner Fred Rush, Commissioner Tim Striker, Hardin County Chamber and Business Alliance President and CEO Holli Underwood, Kenton Mayor Lynn Webb and Kenton Law Director John Schwemer.
