The Ohio State University Extension in Hardin County, in collaboration with Hardin County Job and Family Services and the Kenton FFA, is hosting a free Family Engagement Event on Sunday, April 27, from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Hardin County Fairgrounds, located at 14134 Letson Avenue in Kenton.
The event is part of local efforts to raise awareness for Child Abuse Prevention Month and is funded by the Ohio Children’s Trust Fund.
Families attending can enjoy a variety of activities, including inflatable games, a trackless train ride, 4-H line dancing, and hands-on “Grab and Go” educational activities provided by OSU Extension.
Contributions come from several OSU Extension programs, including Master Gardener Volunteers, 4-H Youth Development, Family and Consumer Sciences, and SNAP-Ed.
Healthy snacks will be available throughout the event and the Hardin County Board of Developmental Disabilities will also have a sensory space on-site for the event.
Children and youth in attendance—from birth through high school senior—will each receive a raffle ticket to enter for a chance to win one of several exciting door prizes, with the drawing set to begin at 4:30 p.m.
