A business in Kenton was damaged by a fire Wednesday afternoon.

According to information from the Kenton Fire Department, firefighters were dispatched at around 2:30pm to Large’s Exhaust at 935 North Detroit Street.

Upon arrival, heavy black smoke and fire were visible coming from the two open garage doors.

Everyone in the building was out and there were no injuries.

A worker said the fire started under the dash of a truck that was being worked and quickly became too big to handle with a fire extinguisher.

Extensive damage occurred to the building and contents.

Mutual assistance was provided by fire departments from Dunkirk, McGuffey and Forest, and BKP Ambulance was also on scene.

Firefighters were on the scene for around two hours.
