Former Kenton Police Officer Arrested on Multiple Charges Involving Minors in Auglaize County

On February 7th, 2025, the Auglaize County Sheriff’s Office received a call about a fight at a residence north of St. Marys.

According to a release, upon arrival, Deputies learned there may have been alcohol and/or drugs involved with juveniles and an adult.

The investigation continued for several months and resulted in the arrest of Robert Gordon Vogel, 43 years old.

Vogel was a former member of the Kenton Police Department.

Robert was arrested on August 8th and transported to the Auglaize County Corrections Center.

He was charged with the following:

  • O.R.C. 2907.321(A)(1), Pandering Obscenity Involving Minor, 1 count, Felony 2nd Degree
  • O.R.C. 2907.321(A)(3), Pandering Obscenity Involving Minor, 1 count, Felony 2nd Degree
  • O.R.C. 2907.321(A)(5), Pandering Obscenity Involving Minor, 1 count, Felony 4th Degree
  • O.R.C. 2909.04(A)(1), Disrupting Public Service, 1 count, Felony 4th Degree
  • O.R.C. 4301.69(A), Furnishing to Underage, 2 counts, Unclassified Misdemeanor

Robert is currently being held on a $250,000 bond with 10% required.

The incident remains under investigation.
