Hardin County OSU Extension Educator Receives National Distinguished Service Award

KENTON, Ohio — Hardin County residents have another reason to celebrate as Ohio State University Extension Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) Educator Jami Dellifield has been recognized with the prestigious Distinguished Service Award (DSA) from the National Extension Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (NEAFCS).

Dellifield received the award on Thursday, October 1, during the NEAFCS National Conference in Knoxville, Tennessee.

The Distinguished Service Award recognizes experienced Extension Family and Consumer Sciences educators who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, excellence in programming, and continued personal and professional growth throughout their careers. Award recipients must be members of NEAFCS for at least 10 years and have participated in a minimum of two annual association conferences.

Throughout her tenure with Ohio State University Extension, Dellifield has served Hardin County through educational programs that promote healthy individuals, families, and communities. Her commitment to excellence and dedication to local residents have made a positive impact across the county. 

“We are so fortunate to have Jami serving our community,” said colleagues at Ohio State University Extension in Hardin County. “This national recognition reflects the passion, leadership, and dedication she brings to her work every day.”

Upon receiving the honor, Dellifield expressed her gratitude to the community she serves.

“Thank you to all of you for letting me grow into this position and serve Hardin County with my heart,” she said.

The NEAFCS Distinguished Service Award is one of the organization’s highest recognitions, celebrating Extension professionals who have made significant contributions to the field of Family and Consumer Sciences and to the communities they serve.
