A longtime resident of the Upper Scioto Valley School District donated a piece of history to USV FFA chapter during their Farmers and 1st Responders’ Breakfast this morning.
Special Guest Ruby Sorgan donated the McGuffey FFA jacket that belonged to her late husband, Charles Theodore Sorgan, a 1955 graduate of McGuffey High School.
During his time in FFA, Charles Sorgan was Treasurer of the chapter and had an SAE of sheep breeding and production.
Also included with the jacket is the original FFA charter issued to McGuffey High School in 1940 when the program started.
The jacket and charter are framed and will be displayed in the Ag Education classroom and be a well-preserved reminder of the history of FFA at Upper Scioto Valley.
