An Indiana man has been arrested following an investigation conducted by the Wyandot County Major Crimes/METRICH Enforcement Unit after receiving information involving inappropriate text and video exchanges between an adult male and a juvenile who lived in Wyandot County.
According to a release, after an extensive investigation that was launched in January of this year, detectives were able to identify 41-year-old James W. Slonaker, of Cambridge City, Indiana, as the suspect involved.
On September 30, Indiana State Police executed a search warrant at Slonaker’s residence, and the suspect was then arrested and charged with child exploitation, child solicitation, and possession of child sexual abuse materials, which are all felonies in the State of Indiana.
The Wyandot County Prosector’s Office is reviewing the case, and additional local charges are expected to be filed.
Wyandot County Sheriff Todd Frey encourages citizens to report any suspicious activity by using the Wyandot County Sheriff’s app, METRICH app or by contacting their local law enforcement agency, and he said anonymous tips are accepted.
