
Findlay, Ohio – June 15, 2026: The City of Findlay has promoted Justin Hendren to serve as the City’s next Police Chief. Hendren was sworn in by Mayor Christina Muryn today at the City of Findlay Parker Training Center.
“Public safety remains one of the most important responsibilities of local government, and strong leadership within our Police Department is essential to serving our community,” Mayor Muryn said. “Chief Hendren brings years of experience, dedication, and a deep understanding of our department and our community. I am confident he will continue building upon the strong foundation of service and trust that exists within the Findlay Police Department.”
Hendren began his career with the Findlay Police Department in 1999. He was chosen as the 2003 Officer of the Year. He has served in various roles within the department; including Field Training Officer, Crisis Management Team Operator, Patrol Sgt., Detective Sgt. With the Hancock County METRICH Enforcement Unit, Special Service Division Lt., Patrol Division Lt., and Detective Division Lt. Hendren has been assigned as Captain since 2023, which oversees all three Divisions (Patrol, Detectives, and Special Services) of the Police Department.
“I am honored to have the opportunity to serve as Findlay’s Police Chief,” Hendren said. “Our commitment remains the same: to serve our residents with professionalism, integrity, and a continued focus on building strong relationships throughout our community.”
Chief Hendren is a graduate of North Baltimore High School and Ohio Peace Officers Training Academy. He is married to his wife, Victoria, and they have six sons.
