Kenton City School officials are reminding parents and students about the arrival and drop off procedures for the new Kenton Middle and High School building.
School begins at Kenton Middle/High School (KMHS) at 8am and ends at 3:10pm. The image above is for parking and traffic flow during the times students are being dropped off (7:15-8AM) and as parents are arriving to pick up students (2:45-3:30PM).
During these times, the access road between the back of Kenton Elementary School (KES) and KMHS school parking lots is one way only from KES to KMHS.
Parents who have KES and KMHS students will drop off and pick up their KES student(s) first, and then use the new access road to KMHS. Parents picking up student(s) from KES who do not have a KMHS student will continue to exit to Township Road 114 as they normally do.
The north/south drive connecting the front and back parking lots at KMHS west of the building will be closed for use during arrival and dismissal times. This is to ensure student drivers enter and exit their parking lot in the front of KMHS via Wildcat Way, formerly Silver Street.
Parents who do not have elementary children may enter and exit the parent pickup parking lot from Township Road 114 or at the corner of Morningside and Wildcat Way.
Parents should park in the large back lot at KMHS to drop off or pick up their student(s). The drive that runs close to the building along the back of KMHS is One Way with no parking at any time of day, not just during arrival and dismissals.
Parents may stop briefly to drop off or pick up students, but should not remain parked in that drive.
KMHS ARRIVAL/DISMISSAL PROCEDURES:
#1 Bus drop off and pick up in the front of the building (Bus Only Driveway)
#2 Student Drivers and Visitors park in front of the building
#3 Parents dropping off or picking up students park in large back lot
Student Drivers must enter the parking lot from Wildcat Way. Students are not to enter or exit toward the back/north of the building.
