A Kenton City Council member, who was arrested Monday, was also cited for domestic violence in July of this year.
According to documents filed in Hardin County Municipal Court, 55-year-old Steve Walter, who represents the city’s 3rd Ward, was charged in early July of this year.
As of this morning, a jury trial is scheduled for October 10 for that charge. Hardin County Municipal Prosecutor Andrew Tudor requested, and the Court granted, that Upper Sandusky Prosecutor Benjamin Buckland be appointed Special Prosecutor, and Judge Greg Grimslid recused himself from the case, both citing Walter’s position on Kenton City Council as the reason.
Walter was arrested Monday afternoon and is currently being held at the Multi County Jail in Marion, where he is facing another charge of domestic violence along with strangulation.
