Kenton Elks #157 Hosts Annual Soccer Shoot, Winners Advance to District Competition

Kenton Elks #157 held its annual Soccer Shoot on Saturday, August 23, at the soccer practice fields behind Kenton High School. Eleven youth participated in the event, which had been rescheduled from the original contest date of July 31st due to thunderstorms.

Winning first place in their respective divisions were: U8 – Madeline McPheron, Michael Jansen; U10 – Savannah Pifer, Owen Wood; and U12 – Nora Jansen, Shawn Layman Cannode. There were no contenders in the U14 or U16 divisions.

Volunteering their time to help with the event were Roger Crowe, Jerome Davis, Stacey Hamilton-Davis, Vicki Miller, Shelly Fannon, Mike Fannon, Ia Esebua (exchange student from Republic of Georgia), Marty McKinley Gray, Derryck Menard, and Julie Crowe.

The first place winners will now advance to the District Soccer Shoot on Saturday, September 27, at the Emory Adams Sports complex in Findlay, Ohio.
