
Kenton City Schools continue with their exciting Homecoming week, featuring themed dress days and traditional events.
The annual bonfire will take place this evening at 8:00 p.m. behind Robinson Field, and a pep rally for students will be held Friday, September 19th at 2:00 p.m. in the high school gym.
The Homecoming Parade will begin Friday at 6:00 p.m., forming in the Kenton First Methodist Church parking lot and traveling south on North Wayne Street, then east on Columbus Street to Kenton Middle School.
The parade will feature the JROTC Color Guard and Wildcat Battalion, Kenton High School Band, cheerleaders, Homecoming Attendants, and Grand Marshal Sue Buroker, retired KCS choral director. Following behind will be fall KHS and KMS athletic teams and the FFA chapter.
Friday evening at 6:30 p.m., pre-game ceremonies and the presentation of the Homecoming Queen and Attendants will take place on Robinson Field. The homecoming game will kick-off at 7pm against Bath.
This year’s Homecoming Court includes:
Layelle Coulson (Freshman), Lyla Gammon (Sophomore), Ade Bridenstine (Junior), Addy Haudenschield, Emori Criner, and Addi Manns (Seniors)
The festivities will conclude with the Junior Class-sponsored Homecoming dance on Saturday, September 20th, from 8:00 to 11:00 p.m. in the high school gym.
The Kenton Historic Courthouse District will host KHS Alumni Night during this week’s Downtown Tailgate Party on Friday, Sept. 19, ahead of the Kenton Wildcats’ Homecoming festivities.
The event runs from 4:30–7 p.m. in the Kenton Elks Lodge #157 parking lot and will feature DJ music by Joe Pine, food from Fork in the Road gourmet grilled cheese truck, sweet treats from Valentine Polar Treats, and cornhole games.
Afterward, guests are encouraged to follow the Homecoming Parade to Robinson Field for pre-game ceremonies and the Wildcats’ Homecoming game.
