A Kenton man was granted judicial release and was placed on five years of community control Thursday in Hardin County Common Pleas Court.

This case dates back to October of 2024, when then 19-year-old Jacob Boyer was indicted on one count each of illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material or performance and tampering with evidence.

He pleaded guilty to the illegal use of a minor charge and attempted tampering with evidence in May of this year and was sentenced to 17 months in prison in July.

As part of his five-year community control requirements, he must enter into and successfully complete a community based correctional facility and follow all recommendations for after care.

Boyer is now being held in the Multi County Jail in Marion while awaiting an opening in the facility.
