Kenton/OHP BPA Students Excel at Regionals, 18 Advance to State Competition

KENTON, OH – Students from the Kenton/OHP Business Professionals of America (BPA) chapter delivered an outstanding performance at the BPA Regional Competition held Tuesday, January 13th, at Ohio Northern University. Competing against students from across the region, the chapter secured numerous top placements, with 18 students qualifying to advance to the State Leadership Conference.

“The scale of these competitions and the preparation required is immense,” said Chapter Advisor Wes Goldsmith. “Seeing our students rise to the occasion and perform at such a high level is incredibly rewarding. They have put in massive amounts of work, and it shows in these results.”

The following students have qualified for the BPA State Leadership Conference, which will be held in Columbus this March:

  • Presley Wilson – 1st Place, Business Law & Ethics and 4th Place, Medical Coding
  • Karyn Hopkins – 1st Place, Computer Modeling
  • Anden Goldsmith – 1st Place, Entrepreneurship and 2nd Place, Business Law & Ethics
  • Visual Design Team (CJ Newberry, Jaycob Francis, Emori Criner, Anden Goldsmith) – 1st Place
  • Computer Animation Team (Jackson Blue, Wade Manns, Jaycob Francis, Zane Styer) – 1st Place
  • Brady Cole – 2nd Place, Fundamental Desktop Publishing
  • Jamison Clark – 2nd Place, Fundamentals of Web Design
  • Lynzze Michel – 2nd Place, Extemporaneous Speech
  • Garraden Wirbel – 1st Place, Extemporaneous Speech and 2nd Place, Medical Coding
  • Emori Criner – 2nd Place, Health Research Presentation
  • CJ Newberry – 3rd Place, Fundamental Desktop Publishing
  • Kaylee Barlow – 5th Place, Fundamental Accounting
  • Richard Huang – 6th Place, Python Programming
