Man Arrested in Findlay After Brief Police Pursuit Sunday Morning

A man was arrested Sunday morning in Findlay after a short pursuit by Findlay Police officers.

According to a release, officers observed a vehicle run a stop sign in the 600 block of Grand Avenue and attempted to make a traffic stop.

The driver failed to stop, and the pursuit was initiated.

It ended a short distance away, when the driver pulled into an alley and stopped in a parking lot behind 714 Beech Avenue and gave up without resistance.

According to the release, the pursuit lasted around one minute and was about 0.47 miles in length.

29-year-old Samuel Hilkert was arrested and is being held in the Hancock County Justice Center on charges of fleeing and eluding and operating a vehicle while under the influence.
