A Mount Blanchard man was taken into custody Friday after a day‑long standoff in which Hancock County deputies and the county’s Special Response Team executed a search warrant at a home on West Clay Street.

According to a release from the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office, at approximately 08:14 a.m. deputies from the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office responded to 105 West Clay Street in the Village of Mount Blanchard for a welfare check.

Through their investigation the situation was determined to be a domestic violence incident. A female subject was able to escape from the residence where deputies spoke with her at a neighboring residence. Attempts to contact the male suspect were unsuccessful as he remained inside the residence. Surveillance was conducted on the residence until a search warrant was able to be obtained.

At approximately 6:30 p.m., the Hancock County Special Response Team executed a search warrant on the residence. Deputies were then able to continue their investigation and as a result the following person was taken into custody and incarcerated at the Hancock County Justice Center:

Drew Vincent Allen Harris (27 years old) 105 West Clay Street Mount Blanchard, Ohio

Arrest charges: Domestic Violence (Misdemeanor of the 1st degree) Abduction (Felony of the 3rd degree)

Assisting at the scene was the Findlay Police Department K-9 team and the Hancock County Emergency Management Agency.
