A Mt. Victory man was sentenced Thursday afternoon on two counts of tampering with evidence.

Andrew McCafferty was placed on five-year community control, with conditions.

He must serve 180 days of local incarceration but was granted 129 days for time served.

McCafferty must report to the Multi-County Correctional Center in Marion, beginning March 23, and he was granted work release upon filing an approved Work Release Contract.

Using a Stand Your Ground defense, McCafferty was acquitted on the more serious charges of aggravated murder, murder, involuntary manslaughter, and felonious assault following a four-day jury trial in early February.
