A ribbon cutting celebration was held Wednesday to celebrate the completion of the Kenton Middle/High School’s new Sharon Moore Memorial Tennis Courts.

The ceremony was conducted by the Hardin County Chamber and Business Alliance.

Moore was the first Kenton girls’ varsity tennis coach when tennis became a sanctioned sport in 1977.

She led the Lady Wildcats to three straight Western Buckeye League Championships from 1977 to 1979 and shared a fourth League crown one year later, and she also coached the boy’s team from 1985 to 1987.

She passed away in August 2020, and she was inducted into the Hardin County Sports Hall of Fame in 2023.
