OhioHealth Hardin Memorial Hospital’s critical access designation has allowed the hospital to operate a Swing Bed Program since 2022.
The program supports patients who still need skilled recovery while transitioning from inpatient hospital stay to home.
Administrative Nurse Manager Ryan Newland said all of the great work that has gone into the program since its launch has been worth it, “Just seeing the outcome the patients have had with the program has been extremely rewarding, so being here on the front end to talk about the service that we’re going to offer, it was enjoyable to launch that service, but almost four years in and just seeing the outcomes for the patients, it’s been extraordinarily rewarding.”
