Public hearings scheduled on Enbridge Gas Ohio rate increase application

COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) scheduled three local public hearings regarding Enbridge Gas Ohio’s (EOG) application to increase natural gas distribution rates and for approval of an alternative rate plan.

The local public hearings will be held:

Those that testify will have their comments included in the case record. An evidentiary hearing will also take place at the PUCO offices in Columbus on Sept. 29, 2026, at 10 a.m.

Case Background

On Dec. 31, 2025, Enbridge Gas Ohio filed a combined application to increase rates and charges and for approval of an alternative rate plan pursuant to R.C. 4909.18 and R.C. 4929.05, along with associated applications for approval to change accounting methods and approval of tariff revisions.

In its application, EOG seeks a rate increase of $163,072,527, or an increase of 17.28 percent. A residential customer would experience an monthly bill increase of $9.49.

After its review of EOG’s application and records, PUCO’s staff recommends a revenue increase in the range of $112,646,190 to $129,447,541, or an increase of between 11.86 percent and 13.63 percent. A residential customer would experience a monthly bill increase of approximately $5.90.
