The Kenton Lions club met Wednesday, June 17th, 2026 at the Kenton Elks Lodge 157 at 7:02 PM. 21 members and guest District Governor elect Lion Pam Bourland-Olachia were present for the meeting.
Immediate Past President Lion Brad Bailey led in the Pledge of Allegiance and PDG Bill Keller lead the club in prayer. Past President Lion Jason Van Buskirk announced to the club several messages he received from last meetings speaker Jennifer Ramge about possibly getting help from the club for upcoming events with “Eats on the Streets” and later in the year.
Lions voted to accept both the Treasurer and Secretary’s reports that were submitted.
Immediate Past President Lion Brad Bailey presented to the club a sky picture view of the Pioneer Park that had a possible location on the picture if we were able to move the gazebo. There was a lot of talk about possibly laying concrete on the area, the cost of supplies (possibly talking with several local companies if/when needed), what Lion “man hours” it might take for both moving possibly to the park/from the County Home, would it still be possible to move it, and it might need repaired if/where.
Immediate Lion President Brad Bailey stated he would talk to the needed City Officials about the possible pouring of concrete in the location and what it would take to do so, if it was a “go”.
Lion Rusty Bingham talked to the club about possibly setting up a dunk tank while at the “Eats at the Streets” event, and the club talked about this year having another money ticket raffle with a drawing at the “Eats at the Streets” and at the upcoming August 22nd beer tent the club will be working while at the concert.
District Governor elect Lion Pam Bourland-Olachia elected each upcoming 2026-2027 Lion Officer that was in attendance. She wanted to thank the club for what all we have been doing and what sounds what we have in store in the future with the club and community.
The 50/50 was won by Lion Bruce Oberlitner and he donated it back to the club.
Meeting adjourned at 8:30pm followed by the singing of the Lions Roar.
