A Russells Point man was arrested Monday after the Washington Township Police Department was made aware of an individual taking photographs of children during the parade that they felt were inappropriate.

According to a release, 63-year-old Terry Davis was approached by officers and admitted that he did have photographs on his cell phone that were taken during the parade.

He gave consent for officers to conduct a search of his cell phone, and allegedly photographs of children taken during the parade, as well as additional harmful photographs of children not affiliated with the parade were found.

Davis, who has no affiliation to the Lakeview Amvets Post 39, was arrested and transported to the Logan County Jail where he is being held on a felony charge of pandering obscenity involving a minor.

This is an ongoing investigation, and the Washington Township will be working closely with the Logan County Prosecutors Office to ensure that any and all criminal charges that can be filed, are filed against Davis.

Officers will diligently work to identify any and all victims from Monday’s incident and contact will be made with the victims.

Police Chief Michael Thompson said this is a reminder for all of us that being diligent of our surroundings makes those around us safer.

He thanked the bystanders for their quick actions and bringing the situation to their attention.

He added that because of them, “We were able to apprehend and incarcerate a sick individual and protect the community from further incidents.”
