Ohio State University Extension in Hardin County, in partnership with Hardin County Job and Family Services and the Kenton FFA, is excited to host a Family Engagement Day in recognition of Child Abuse Awareness Month.

This free, community-wide event is scheduled for Sunday, April 27, 2025, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Hardin County Fairgrounds, located at 14134 Letson Avenue in Kenton.

Funded by the Ohio Children’s Trust Fund, the event is open to the public and designed to promote strong, healthy families through fun, education, and community connection.

They invite you and your family to join them for an afternoon filled with engaging activities, educational resources, and entertainment.

Local organizations will be on hand to share valuable information and services, and families will enjoy a wide range of fun experiences, including healthy food options, 4-H line dancing, and much more.

In addition, the Kenton High School FFA Chapter will host its Ag Day during the event, providing opportunities to learn about agriculture, meet animals, and explore farm equipment up close.

A sensory space will also be on-site, provided by the Hardin County Board of Developmental Disabilities.

They are also currently seeking support from community members, businesses, and organizations to help make this day even more special.

Donations of family-oriented prizes are welcome—items like board games, pool passes, gift cards for local attractions or dining, or tickets to sporting events.

These prizes will be used as free giveaways for families who participate in event activities.

Monetary donations are also appreciated and will go toward purchasing day trip experiences and other fun family night items.

Community organizations that serve families and children are encouraged to take part by setting up a table in the event space. This will be a “farmer’s market style” layout, and each organization will be responsible for bringing their own table, tent, chairs, and materials. It’s a great opportunity to connect with local families and share your services.

If you would like to donate a raffle prize or reserve a table for your organization, please contact Jami Dellifield at dellifield.2@osu.edu or call 419-674-2297.
