Several persons of interest have emerged after an investigation into a shooting incident that occurred at the Meijer store in Lima this past Monday afternoon.

According to a release, deputies from the Allen County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the store on Elida Road at around 4:10pm Monday in reference to shots fired in the store.

Deputies and units from the Lima Police Department arrived on scene, secured and searched the store, but no suspects or victims were located in the store.

During the investigation of this incident, it was discovered that a group of younger black males entered Meijer looking for a specific employee that the group was familiar with, and a confrontation ensued between the individual and the group, which lead to a physical altercation.

During the altercation, a firearm was introduced and a single round was discharged in the store with no injuries being reported.

After which all involved parties fled the scene and in an abundance of caution Meijer was closed for the rest of the day on Monday.

So far, investigators are only releasing the name of individual who produced the firearm.

He is 18-year-old Dezzmin Cobb, of Lima, and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.

This is an ongoing investigation, and if have you any information, call Allen County Sheriff’s Office Detective Mitchell Scott at 419-993-1431 or 419-227-3535.
