Flash Flood Warning Issued for Logan County

The National Weather Service in Wilmington has issued a Flash Flood Warning for… Logan County in west central Ohio… Until 845 PM EDT 06/05/24.

At 533 PM EDT, radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible.

Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD…Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

IMPACT…Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

Some locations that may experience flash flooding include… Bellefontaine, Russells Point, De Graff, Lakeview, Belle Center, West Mansfield, Chippewa Park, Northwood, Quincy, Rushsylvania, Huntsville, Ridgeway, Valley Hi, Zanesfield, Mcmorran, New Jerusalem, Lewistown, Big Springs, Logansville and Bloom Center.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS… Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
