Area Agency on Aging 3 Recognized By OSHIIP

LIMA, Ohio – Ohio Senior Health Insurance Information Program (OSHIIP) has selected Area Agency on Aging 3 as their Site of the Year for 2025. Every year OSHIIP highlights partners and volunteers that help to provide free, objective, health insurance information and one-on-one counselling.

OSHIIP’s hotline experts, speaker’s bureau, and trained volunteers educate consumers about Medicare, Medicare prescription drug coverage (Part D), Medicare Advantage options, Medicare supplement insurance, long-term care insurance, and other health insurance matters. 

Area Agency on Aging 3’s Jessie Roberts, Medicaid & Medicare Specialist will receive the award from OSHIIP for her hard work, dedicated and outstanding service that has made Area Agency on Aging 3 the Site of the Year.

Each year, OSHIIP recognizes individuals and organizations in different categories including; Volunteer, Rookie, Coordinator, Partner, and Site.

In 2025 throughout the state, OSHIIP was able to:

• Save Ohio beneficiaries more than $77 million
• Provide free counseling and claims assistance to 342,628 Medicare patients and/or family/caregivers
• Educate 518,162 at free public events
• Assist 80,071 disabled Ohioans navigate Medicare
• Enroll 331,113 Ohio beneficiaries into financial savings programs or more cost-effective plans
• Reach 228,329 hard-to-reach Ohio beneficiaries (rural, low-income, English as a second language 

Volunteers gave 82,881.42 hours valued at $2,687,016.
