Marion, OH – The Marion Palace Theatre is thrilled to announce open auditions for the upcoming Junior Palace Production of Bringing Down the House, a fast-paced, laugh-out-loud stage comedy written by Todd Wallinger. This unique show is full of unforgettable characters, high-energy action, and theatrical chaos—all set inside a “musical” where the songs never get sung! Performances are scheduled for February 20–22, 2026 on the historic Marion Palace stage.

Director Morgan Schwartz invites boys and girls ages 8 and up to audition on Tuesday, January 7 or Wednesday, January 8 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on the Palace main stage. Only one of the two audition dates is needed.

Audition Requirements:

  • Come prepared with a memorized poem or monologue (30–60 seconds).
  • Wear comfortable clothing and shoes suitable for movement and stage activity.
  • No singing or dance experience is required for this non-musical comedy.

This large ensemble show features a wide variety of comedic roles—from aspiring artists and egotistical actors to clueless demolition crews, over-the-top protestors, and scene-stealing side characters. It’s a perfect opportunity for new and experienced young performers alike.

Rehearsals will take place three evenings per week from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with scheduling flexibility to accommodate school and extracurricular conflicts.

For more information about auditions or to purchase show tickets, please contact the Palace Box Office at 740-383-2101 or visit marionpalace.org. The Box Office, located at 276 W. Center St. in downtown Marion, is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and closed Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday.
