Class 14 of the Bellefontaine Police Department’s Citizens Police Academy officially wrapped up their 10-week journey last week with a memorable final night at the Logan County Fish and Game.
Participants had the unique opportunity to get hands-on experience with a variety of the police department’s firearms.
Under the guidance of trained officers, students safely fired handguns, patrol rifles, and shotguns, gaining a deeper understanding of the training, responsibility, and precision required in law enforcement.
To cap off the evening, the class got to experience a true piece of department history, a fully automatic Thompson sub-machine gun.
It was a highlight that brought both excitement and appreciation for the evolution of police equipment over the years.
