Flooding issues forced the temporary closure of the emergency department at Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine Wednesday evening.

WPKO Radio reported that just over 3 inches of rain was reported in the area, which led to flooding and five patients at the hospital had to be transferred to area hospitals.

The ER was fully operational as of this morning.

More rain is in the forcement, and motorists are advised to drive with care, remembering not to cross flooded roads.

Some roads around the region remain closed.

A Flash Flood Watch is in effect until 8 this evening.
