Benjamin Logan First Graders Host Family Book Tasting Literacy Event

Benjamin Logan first grade students hosted their first “Book Tasting” family event last week, providing an engaging literacy experience for students and their families.

During the event, students explored multiple genres—including fiction, nonfiction, and fairy tales—and documented their reflections in “coffee cup” journals by rating each book and illustrating their favorite parts.

The event encouraged family involvement in literacy while fostering a love of reading. Students also received take-home prize bags containing books, pencils, bookmarks, a writing notebook, and a treat.
