Students in Mrs. Lane’s Advanced English 11 classes at Benjamin Logan High School are bringing their studies to life by connecting literature with hands-on learning.
While reading stories centered around food, students are also working in the school greenhouse to grow their own herbs, vegetables, and flowers. Collaborating in teams, they are planting, nurturing, and maintaining their crops as part of the experience.
The project provides students with a meaningful opportunity to apply classroom concepts in a real-world setting while building teamwork, responsibility, and an understanding of food systems.
