The City of Kenton has announced a new Community Cleanup Incentive program set to begin in May, offering residents a chance to clean up their properties and receive a credit on their utility bills.
Residents can receive up to $25 per visit by participating in the program. To qualify, individuals must take trash to the Hardin County Transfer Station at 45 Jones Road, keep their receipt, and bring it in person to the Utility Office at 111 West Franklin Street along with their utility account number.
Credits are issued at up to $25 per receipt, with a limit of two receipts per account.
Recycling and compost disposal are free of charge. Brush disposal costs $5 per truck load or $10 per trailer, while other loads start at $5 for up to 120 pounds.
The program is limited to residential accounts that currently have city trash service, and receipts must be presented in person.
For questions about acceptable items, residents can contact the Hardin County Solid Waste Facility at 419-673-7183.
