Council on Aging to Host Free Alzheimer’s Program in Kenton on May 2

The Hardin County Council on Aging will host a free Alzheimer’s Association Northwest Ohio Chapter program in May.

The 10 Healthy Habits for Your Brain program will be presented starting at 10:00am on Friday, May 2.

Hardin County Council on Aging is located at 100 Memorial Avenue in Kenton.

10 Healthy Habits for Your Brain:

  • Ten Healthy Habits shares how simple everyday actions can make a difference in brain health, even lowering the risk of cognitive decline. Learn what you can do today to keep your brain healthy as you age.

“This program can build a sense of community for anyone facing Alzheimer’s or other dementia,” said Pam Myers, senior director, programs for the Alzheimer’s Association Central Ohio and Northwest Ohio Chapters. “We are here to offer free support and resources to anyone who needs it, regardless of where they are in their journey.”

There are 236,200 Ohioans 65 and older living with Alzheimer’s disease according to the Alzheimer’s Association 2024 Alzheimer’s Disease Facts and Figures. A total of 414,000 Ohio caregivers provide 624 million hours of unpaid care each year, valued at $11.4 billion.
