Delaware Man Faces Kidnapping, Importuning and Public Indecency Charges Following Incident at Marysville Municipal Pool

A 43-year-old Delaware man was arraigned in Marysville Municipal Court Thursday on charges connected to an incident at the Marysville Pool this past Tuesday.

According to a release from the Marysville Police Department, on July 7, 2026 at 7:51 PM, officers from the Marysville Police Division were dispatched to the Marysville Municipal Pool at 510 Park Ave Marysville, Ohio.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with City Pool employees and a male juvenile victim. It was reported that an unidentified adult male exposed himself and made obscene gestures toward the juvenile while inside the pool’s locker room. Fortunately, the juvenile did not sustain any physical injuries.

After the incident and before police were called, the unidentified male left the locker room and fled the scene. Marysville Police were able to get a description of the male and the vehicle he was driving.

As a result of the investigation, the suspect was identified as Namon Joshua IV (43) of Delaware, Ohio. He was arrested in Delaware, Ohio on July 8, 2026 by Marysville Police Detectives with the assistance of the Delaware Police Department.

He is charged with Kidnapping, a Felony in the 2nd degree, Public Indecency a Felony in the 5th degree, and Importuning a Felony in the 5th degree.

According to court documents from Thursday’s arraignment, bond was set at $500,000, and 10 percent was not allowed.

A preliminary hearing was set for July 17.

Marysville law enforcement officials also commended the young victim for immediately alerting a trusted adult, and the pool staff for their response and stated their joint efforts ensured the victim’s safety and directly led to the suspect’s arrest, helping to keep Marysville safe.
