Today is Election Day, with voters across Hardin County deciding on several local council and school board races.

Money issues include the levy to support the Kenton Fire and Police Departments and Ridgemont School’s .75% income tax levy.

Also, voters in Cessna Township will decide the fate of two money issues. One is for the maintaining and operating of the cemeteries and the other is to provide for and maintain fire services, both of which are replacement levies.

For Kenton, three seats are open for Council at Large seats.

The candidates are incumbents Peggy Wren and Robin Jones and write-in candidates Doris Blum, Curtis Castle, and Raymond Lawrence II.

Write-in candidates Thad Gardner and E. Lydia Miller are vying for the city’s 2nd Ward seat.

Three seats are open on the Kenton City School’s Board of Education.

The candidates are incumbents Rodney Hensel, Natasha Heydinger and write-in candidates Jayna Jansen and Mike Styer.

Kenton residents will also decide the fate of the proposed Charter Commission.

On the ballot it is worded “Shall a commission be chosen to frame a charter?”

There are also 15 names on the ballot who will be Charter Commission members if the proposal passes.

Precinct polling locations for the November 4, 2025 General Election will be open today from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
