Evening Garden Affair to Highlight Native Plants at Friendship Gardens in Kenton

Hardin County The Ohio State University Extension Master Gardener Volunteer program in Hardin County will host their annual ‘An Evening Garden Affair’ on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, from 6:00-8:00 PM.

The program will feature an educational presentation about native plants by speaker Chad Carrell of The Native Pathways Nursery and Hancock Park District. Participants will learn what native plants are, why they are important, why they should be planted, and how to incorporate them into their own landscapes.

The evening will begin at the Friendship Gardens for registration, a tour of the Friendship Gardens, and refreshments. Participants will then move to the Simon Kenton building for the educational presentation. The Friendship Gardens are located at 960 West Kohler Street, Kenton, OH 43326.

Overflow parking will be available at the Hardin Soil and Water Conservation District parking lot located at 950 West Kohler Street. The Simon Kenton School building has a fan but no air conditioning, so please dress accordingly.

The event is free and open to anyone with an interest in learning more about native plants.
