The Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office is seeking assistance from the public as it investigates what they are calling a suspicious death that occurred on April 22 in Sycamore Township.

According to a release from Sheriff Todd Frey, the Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office, Wyandot County Major Crimes Unit and the METRICH Enforcement Unit were dispatched to an area on County Highway 9 after receiving a 9-1-1 call from someone who reported that they had just hit someone that was lying in the middle of the road.

The body of the male was found and was pronounced dead by the Wyandot County Coroner’s Office and was transported to the Lucas County Coroner’s Office for an autopsy.

Authorities have located a video surveillance of a light-colored SUV or Station Wagon that was traveling north on State Highway 231 and then turned west onto County Highway 9 at around 11:34pm on April 22.

The vehicle may have front end damage from the incident.

If anyone has any information regarding the vehicle or any information, contact the Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office at 419-294-2362, or you can submit a tip on the Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office App.
