Four Injured in Head-On Crash on SR 31 in Union County
A 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe was southbound on 31 and went left of center where it collided head on with a northbound semi.
The driver of the Santa Fe had to be freed from the vehicle and was taken by MedFlight to Grant Medical Center in Columbus. Three passengers were transferred from Memorial Hospital to Grant and Nationwide Children’s Hospital. The driver of the semi was not injured.
Drugs and alcohol are not considered to be factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.
State Route 31 at State Route 47 and State Route 739 was closed for around 5 hours.
Units from the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the Ohio Department of Transportation and Union Rural Electric assisted at the scene.
