A two story house in Goshen Township was destroyed by fire Tuesday evening.

According to information from Marseilles Fire Chief Steve Dickinson, firefighters were dispatched to the 21470 County Road 110 around 7:30 Tuesday evening. The house was fully engulfed in flames.

There was no one inside the house at the time.

Two of the occupants, Karen Wynegar and her granddaughter were working in the yard when they looked and saw black smoke pouring from the house.

The cause has not yet been determined.

Chief Dickinson said firefighters were called back early this morning, when the fire rekindled. They remained on the scene late this morning.

The family lost everything in the fire, but there were no injuries, including the dogs that were outside at the time.

Mutual assistance was provided by fire departments from Kenton, Forest and Scioto Valley.

The American Red Cross provided assistance for the immediate needs of three adults and two children, such as temporary lodging, food and clothing. They also provided water for the firefighters battling the blaze.
