Hancock County residents are being invited to become associate members of the Buckeye State Sheriff’s Association.

WFIN Radio reported that Sheriff Michael Heldman said this in response to an increasing number of people wanting to assist law enforcement in the fight against crime.

He said residents can join for a contribution as little as $20.

The sheriff added that the membership drive is more important due to increasing cutbacks from government funding.

Call the Buckeye State Sheriff’s Association at 1-800-589-2772 for more information.
