Hardin County Sheriff’s Office Warning Residents About a Scam Involving Warrants

The Hardin County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents to beware of a “warrant scam.”

The office has received a report of an individual receiving an automated phone call purportedly from the Hardin County Commissioners Office, stating that numerous warrants for the person’s arrest have been filed against him and encouraging the recipient to push a certain number to be connected to someone to speak with.

Neither the Commissioners or the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office makes contact with persons in this fashion to advise them of warrants.

Should you receive such a call you are encouraged to simply hang up and not engage with the caller in any fashion.
