Hardin County residents are being warned about an increase in phone scams targeting the community.

The Hardin County Sheriff’s Office stated that scammers use high-pressure tactics and fear to confuse and panic their potential targets.

You are advised to be on high alert for major red flags like Demands for Immediate Payment, and Demands to Go to a Location Immediately

If you get a call like that, never send money, buy gift cards, or travel anywhere based on an unsolicited phone call.

You should hang up and report the incident to the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office.
