HN 5th Graders Walk-A-Thon Benefits Water for Sudan Organization
The fifth grade class at Hardin Northern had a 3 mile Walk-A-Thon and fundraiser after reading the book A Long Walk to Water.
The book highlights the need for fresh and clean water in third world countries, specifically in Sudan, Africa.
The fundraiser totaled $290 and will be sent to an organization called Water for Sudan created by the book’s main character.
The class walked 3 miles because that is the average amount walked to find clean water in Sudan.
The fifth grade class thanked everyone who donated.
