A Kenton woman’s motion to disqualify the Hardin County Prosecutor’s Office from further participation in her case has been denied.

Attorneys for Kiera Browne filed the motion claiming that because the Prosecutor’s Office has already taken positions regarding these allegations in prior proceedings, and its continued participation in the criminal prosecution raises substantial concerns regarding prosecutorial independence.

In its response, the Prosecutor’s Office refuted several claims in the defendant’s filing and asked the Court to deny the defense motion of disqualification.

After a recent hearing, Judge Steve Christopher denied the motion.

Browne was indicted on two counts of domestic violence and eight counts of endangering children in February of this year.

She pleaded not guilty to all the charges, and a three-day jury trial is scheduled to begin June 23.
