Two people from Kenton were arrested following a traffic stop in Logan County on Tuesday.

The Bellefontaine Examiner reported that officers from the Bellefontaine Police Department stopped a minivan being driven by 44 year old Heather M. Carter. The driver told police there were firearms and ammunition in the vehicle, which was then searched.

Numerous handguns, a rifle and loaded magazines, as well as a duffle bag containing handguns were seized from the vehicle. All of the weapons had been reported as stolen.

Carter informed officers that she was concealing marijuana in her bra after she was arrested.

She has been charged with improper handling of firearms in a motor vehicle and possession of marijuana.

A passenger in the van, 35 year old Tristen Mendenhall, was taken into custody on a parole violation.

Additional charges are being considered by the Logan County Prosecutor’s Office.
