A Kenton man pleaded guilty to multiple felony charges last week in Hardin County Common Pleas Court.

According to court documents, Christopher Kitchen was then found guilty to theft, grand theft, money laundering and tampering with records.

The charges were filed after an investigation was launched in late August 2024 into fraudulent dealings with a revolving loan through the Hardin County Chamber and Business Alliance.

The money was to be used by Kitchen to help open a new supermarket in the old Kroger building on East Columbus Street in Kenton.

As part of the investigation, search warrants were served at the Columbus Street location as well as Kitchen’s residence.

The investigation culminated in charges being filed late last month.

Judge Steve Christopher ordered that a presentence investigation be completed and set the sentencing date for April 1.
